About
Aural Escape is the musical persona of an independent artist based in Australia, creating one-of-a-kind pieces. Using several keyboards, rack synths, samplers and VST's in a personal home studio. Aural Escape's musical journey began being self-taught with Casio CT-660 'back in the day' - Still owned and noodled upon today - and continued with formal piano lessons. Demonstrating enduring passion for sound and creativity.
Inspired by electronic pioneers like Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream and Mark Shreeve to name a few, Aural Escape embarked on a sonic adventure that began with a youthful fascination and developed into a pursuit of ambient and cinematic soundscapes. The music occasionally includes orchestral elements, reflecting a diverse interest and influence with the ability to blend it with electronic music to create rich, emotive pieces that could accompany any narrative.
Apart from making music, Aural Escape also restored some keyboards. Having been revived, they now contribute their sound. The latest project involves restoring an Akai S1000, promising to bring vintage sounds back to life in new compositions. This hands-on approach to music production not only enriches the sound but also connects the past with the present in every piece.
Creating music is more than a hobby-it's a deeper engagement with art that surpasses the fleeting satisfaction of passive televised entertainment. Aural Escape's compositions offer unique soundscapes for listeners to explore.
Aural Escape is currently working on a novel which blends dystopic fantasy with sci-fi elements, while also dedicated to completing various musical pieces. The aim is to compile these into several EPs that showcase the evolution and breadth of this artist's auditory palette.
